While they teach the theory of finance in Wharton, the DP provides an ideal business laboratory where the money is real. The Finance & Accounting team is responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting functions of the Daily Pennsylvanian Inc. including budget creation, revenue and expenditure analysis, and investment strategy

Operating Budget

Creates the annual, $1.7M budget for the DP inc. Coordinates will all facets of the company in order to develop an accurate, comprehensive budget plan for the next fiscal year

Accounting

Responsible for all accounts payable and receivable tasks, including payroll, staff reimbursement, client billing, and travel

5 year plan

Oversees the implementation of the DP's 5 year revenue plan, in order to optimize and strengthen the DP's financial standing

Vanguard Potfolio

Administers the DP's $2M vanguard stock portfolio, advises on investment strategy to the DP Board of Directors

Manager

The managers head the development of all new DP projects and collaborate with other Daily Pennsylvanian teams, from editors to designers, in order to integrate them seamlessly.
